Dr. Prajin Eiamlamnao, Chief Executive Officer of Grand Prix International Public Company Limited, the organizer of the Bangkok International Motor Show, stated, “The 45th Bangkok International Motor Show is held under the theme ‘The Mobility of Joyful Experiences,’ reflecting the convergence of automotive technology and lifestyle. The beauty of cutting-edge automotive technology reflects creativity and innovation, enhancing happiness and the joyful experience of every journey.”
Despite challenges, this year’s event witnessed a growth in attendance compared to pre-COVID times, signaling a positive outlook for the Thai automotive industry. The Bangkok International Motor Show serves as a catalyst for the industry’s growth by showcasing automobiles, motorcycles, and related equipment, all in one event.
Dr. Prajin added, “Additionally, we expanded the exhibition space to over 76,000 square meters, up from the previous 60,000 square meters, with an investment exceeding 300 million baht.”
The 45th Bangkok International Motor Show received support from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Thai Automotive Industry Association, the Thai Society of Automotive Engineers, the Thai Automotive Parts Manufacturers Association, the Intelligent Transport Systems Association of Thailand, and the Royal Automobile Association of Thailand, as well as from IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd.
Mr. Jatupon Komolmis, Chief Operating Office of Grand Prix International Public Company Limited and Deputy Organizer of the Bangkok International Motor Show, revealed, “This year’s event attracted the participation of leading automotive and motorcycle manufacturers, with over 49 brands showcasing new models. Notably, there are over 20 new car models launched this year, including Hyper Concept cars like The Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven and Nissan Hyper Tourer Concept, adding vibrancy to the event.”
Furthermore, the event will feature highlights such as the Lotus Eletre, a fully electric high-performance sports car, the Lotus Emeya, an all-electric supercar, the New Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2024, the New Volvo EX30 fully electric SUV, and Chinese automotive brand Changan’s debut of the Lumin in Thailand.
MG is set to officially launch the MG4 XPower, followed by Honri unveiling the Boma, a 4-seater electric car, similar to Vietnam’s Vinfast, which will introduce the electric SUV VF 7 and the electric pickup prototype VF Wild. Honda will also introduce its new electric scooter model, MOTOCOMPACTO, and the UNI-ONE electric wheelchair-sharing system.
Additionally, the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show has received support from various automotive brands in booth design and decoration to attract visitors’ interest. Each brand’s booth design has been approved by international parent companies and involves significant design and construction budgets, which is expected to restore the event’s vibrant atmosphere as before.
“Nevertheless, the company believes that the entry of electric car manufacturers from China and Vietnam will diversify the automotive market in Thailand. It presents a great opportunity for consumers to choose vehicles according to their preferences at affordable prices. Importantly, visitors can explore and purchase cars and motorcycles from all brands, models, and price ranges available in the country, all within the same event.”
To facilitate media coverage, the organizers of the Bangkok Motor Show have extended the Press Day to two days, scheduled for March 25th and 26th, 2567 (2024). This adjustment aims to provide convenience for all media personnel to carry out their work efficiently. For the presentation schedules of each brand, you can download from the website www.motorshow.in.th
“As for the objectives of this year’s event, the company aims for a growth in both number of visitors and on-site vehicle bookings by approximately 15-20% compared to the previous year. This anticipated increase is attributed to several positive factors, particularly the entry of new car manufacturers. Therefore, we believe that the Bangkok International Motor Show will undoubtedly achieve success as it has in the past,” concluded Mr. Jatupon.
On the manufacturing side, Mr. Anothai Eiamlamnao, CEO of Grand Prix International Public Company Limited and Deputy Organizer of the event, remarked, “As Deputy Organizer of the Bangkok International Motor Show, I feel honored and grateful to everyone involved. Within the event, besides showcasing and selling automobiles, motorcycles, and accessories, we have prepared numerous activities to cater to our visitors.”
He further added, “Moreover, this remains a globally acclaimed automotive exhibition. This year, we have seen an increase in registrations from media outlets worldwide, with over 300 registrations compared to around 200 last year. We expect to disseminate information about the event through more than 1,000 media platforms worldwide. This demonstrates that the Bangkok International Motor Show is truly recognized as a world-class event.”
“For the activities prepared to welcome visitors, there will be Digital Motor Sport featuring standard simulators used in the FIA Motor Sport Game competitions. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience eRacing firsthand.”
“This year, FIA Motor Sport Game has switched from Gran Turismo to Assetto Corsa Competizione, a highly popular racing game. Therefore, the competition management for this year’s event has opted to use Assetto Corsa Competizione.”
“Last year, we sent athletes to participate in the ASIA PACIFIC MOTORSPORTS CHAMPIONSHIP 2023 in Malaysia to prepare Thai eRacing athletes for the upcoming FIA Motor Sport Game competition in October.”
Mr. Peerapong Eiamlamnao, CEO of Business Development at Grand Prix International Public Company Limited and Deputy Organizer of the event, remarked, “Throughout the 45 years of organizing the event, we have continuously evolved its format, whether it’s space management, rule adjustments in booth design, or construction timelines.”
“This is aimed at providing attendees with more opportunities to effectively showcase their product ideas. Each year, visitors experience new product presentation designs and methods from regular exhibitors.”
“In addition to focusing on space management and event formats, we also prioritize enhancing the visitor experience. We have developed various systems to continuously support and facilitate both attendees and participants.”
“This year, we have further developed our LINE Official Account, named GrandPrix.Group, following last year’s initiative. This aims to enhance convenience for ticket purchases, event registrations, and communication between the company and consumers. It serves as a platform for delivering automotive news, new service offerings, and lifestyle content to accommodate future business growth.”
“Moreover, we have established the Grand Prix Data Center and implemented AI technology from the FullLoop system to analyze consumer behavior and preferences. This enables us to develop offerings that better meet the needs of both event participants and attendees.”
“Our company places great importance on customer experience (CX) throughout the years and creating a positive impression with consumers is crucial, as it fosters loyalty and encourages them to return for future services.”
“For the Bangkok International Motor Show 2024, Grand Prix International has once again partnered with TikTok Thailand for the second consecutive year to present the TikTok Motor Show Official. This includes organizing the TikTok Hashtag Challenge, with designated hashtags such as #MotorShow2024, #GrandPrixMotorShow, and #TikTokรักรถ, inviting participants to join and compete for prizes.”
