Volvo Car Thailand launches the new Volvo XC90 plug-in hybrid and unveils the 6-seats configuration of the fully electric Volvo EX90 at the 46th Bangkok International Motor Show. At the event, the company is offering exclusive offers valued at up to 1 million Baht for customers who book and purchase vehicles during the event.
New and improved – the best-ever Volvo XC90 Plug-in Hybrid
What if we could make the best even better? With the new Volvo XC90, revealed today, we’ve done exactly that. Thanks to a broad suite of technology and design updates inside and out, this award-winning and best-selling flagship hybrid SUV is now better than ever before. While retaining its premium features, superior passenger comfort, and a comprehensive suite of active safety features, the new more contemporary exterior design of the XC90 includes a new front grille with a more graphical pattern and Volvo iron mark, new front bumper and front fenders, new sculpted hood, slimmer Thor’s Hammer headlights with Matrix-design LED technology and upgraded rear lamps with darkened design. Inside, the XC90 offers an upgraded infotainment system with an intuitive interface, similar to the ones found in fully electric vehicles such as the EX30 and EX90. The large, frameless 11.2-inch freestanding central touchscreen with higher resolution enhances the user experience and unlocks a range of new features, apps, and regular over-the-air software updates. Additionally, the redesigned console offers more storage space, including a new 2+1 cupholder, while the wireless phone charger has been relocated behind the central tunnel for improved convenience. The XC90 can also be equipped with one of the best-sounding audio systems for a car—the Bowers & Wilkins High Fidelity audio system, featuring 19 separate hi-fi speakers that deliver 1,410 watts of power.
This premium seven-seater plug-in hybrid powertrain features a Drive-E 2.0-liter, four-cylinder petrol engine with advanced e-boost and turbo technology, delivering up to 462 horsepower and 709 Nm of combined torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds1, with a top speed of 180 km/h. The powerful electric motor, paired with an 18.8 kWh lithium-ion battery, provides an electric driving range of up to 76.7 kilometers1, with the ability to extend further when combined with the efficient petrol engine. The ride in the XC90 is better than ever, offering legendary seating comfort and an improved suspension system as standard. Each individual damper now adapts mechanically to current road conditions, optimizing both comfort and stability for a more confident and relaxed driving experience. The air suspension works in tandem with an active chassis that monitors the car, road, and driver 500 times per second, ensuring the most comfortable ride possible. Additionally, extra insulation has been added to select areas of the vehicle to reduce wind and road noise.

Also on display is the Volvo EX90, an all-electric vehicle designed to be the safest car Volvo has ever made. In its 6-seat configuration, the EX90 caters to those seeking a spacious and luxurious electric SUV. The centre seat in the second row has been removed to enhance ease of access to the rear seats, while the vehicle’s versatile design is suitable for all occasions. With a sleek, Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic, the EX90 incorporates premium, natural, and responsibly sourced materials throughout the cabin, contributing to its elegant and refined feel. This makes it an ideal choice for customers seeking a functional, sophisticated, and eco-conscious electric vehicle.
This twin-motor all-wheel-drive version is powered by two permanent magnet electric motors, delivering up to 517 hp and 910 Nm of torque. It offers an impressive 745 km1 of emission-free driving range on a single charge and can recharge from 10 to 80 percent in about 30 minutes with 250 kW DC fast-charging. A core system powered by NVIDIA DRIVE AI platforms manages the car’s key functions, including safety and infotainment systems, displayed on the 14.5-inch screen, along with Google apps. The cabin comfort is enhanced with ergonomic seats featuring massage functions for the driver and front passenger, as well as a new dual-chamber air suspension system, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable driving experience.
