“Bangkok International Motor Show” Stimulates the Vehicle Market
“The 45th Bangkok International Motor Show”, held from March 27th to April 7th, had a total of 58,611 vehicle reservations at the event — 27.5% increase compared to the previous year. Part of this growth stemmed from the introduction of new car and motorcycle models showcased during the event, along with sales-boosting campaigns by automotive manufacturers. Additionally, the event attracted a high attendance of 1.6 million visitors.
Mr. Jaturont Komolmis, Chief Operation Officer of Grand Prix International Public Company Limited, as Vice Chairman of the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show, revealed that “Due to this year’s event, there has been a significant number of new entrepreneurs, especially from China and Vietnam, showcasing a wide range of new electric vehicle models for consumers to explore and purchase, with prices ranging from several hundred thousand to several million baht. This has gathered significant interest from consumers, resulting in a total of 1,610,972 attendees. As a result, the number of car and motorcycle reservations within the event exceeded 58,611 units — 5,173 units for motorcycle and 53,438 units for car. Notably, over 32.78% of these reservations within the event were for electric cars.”
“Furthermore, electric cars from China have gathered public interest similar to electric cars from European manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Volvo. A combined reservation of electric cars exceeds 17,517 units, accounting for over 32.78% of the total. Meanwhile, vehicles with combustion engines still maintain a significant portion of reservations, with over 35,921 units.”
“In terms of consumer behavior, there has been a notable response to newly unveiled car models at the motor show, with many making reservations for the first time at the event. This can be observed from the intense negotiations, particularly during the final weekend where reservation numbers doubled compared to regular days. However, due to changing consumer behaviors, aligning with the need for more value in purchases, many have turned to buying newer cars that offer better value for money. Despite this shift, the luxury car market continues to grow steadily, driven by car manufacturers launching new variants and products in almost every model, aiming to stimulate sales.”
“In term of motorcycle, there were 5 brands of electric motorcycle manufacturers from China participating in the event this year. These electric motorcycles also attracted significant interest from visitors, resulting in a total of 5,173 reservations made for electric motorcycles within the event.”
“The 46th Bangkok International Motor Show” will be held from March 26 to April 6, 22025 at Impact Challenger 1-3, Muang Thong Thani.
